Abstract

As an ecological product recognition, the seal based on the certification of organic products, is
a guarantee of consumer confidence. Food sovereignty is an important agenda in the pursuit
of the agroecological ideal and the organic ones help in this context. The types of certification
mechanisms are: Audit Certification, Participative Guarantee System and Social Control in
Direct Selling, with certifiers licensed by the Ministry of Livestock and Supply. The report to be
treated in the text aims to present the Participative System of Guarantee that occurs through
the ECOVIDA Network of Agroecology and has the assistance of the Center for Popular Alternative
Technologies and the Mixed Cooperative and Alternative Work in the North of Rio Grande
do Sul. Through observation of the meeting of the participants of the Nucleus, some notes
were made regarding the properties and also in relation to the very system used as guarantee
of ecological product.
