The increasing initiatives that promote techniques for organic production, makes it necessary
evaluate their sustainability from the farmers’ point of view. One of these actions is funded by
Itaipu Binacional through the “Cultivando Agua Boa” program. The current study utilizes the
Ambitec-Agro method to evaluate the social, environmental and economic impacts perceived
by 28 dairy farmers assisted by the program. The method uses scale questionnaires, by which
the respondents score variables for 25 criteria. The results show that the implanted techniques
are sustainable, with positive impacts (PIT 6.92%), particularly those in the social (PIT 10.59%)
and economic (PIT 7.44%) dimensions. Challenges still exist, especially in environmental terms
(PIT 2.11%), and can be overcome with specific measures to reduce energy consumption and
atmospheric emissions.
