The importance of exchange between institutions: construction of agroecological knowledge

Abstract

The extension actions, in the university or technological scope, are characterized in their essence,
because they are practices that do not constitute as obligatory stage of the curricula
of the activities. Exchange is a way of immersing yourself in new experiences. This experience
report aims to describe, step by step, the exchange and integration of institutions, in the
formation of agroecological knowledge, in the attempt of collective construction between the
academic environment and the rural community. The purpose of the visit was to exchange
knowledge on the sustainability of tropical ecosystems through technical visits to research,
extension and innovation projects developed by the NEP - Center for Agroecology Studies at
IFPB. The processes resulting from the exchanges will always be focused on the construction
of agroecological knowledge.
