Abstract

The yokel chickens is of great cultural expression and with techniques in sanitary and prophylactic
management from the use of herbal plants available in the region and measures that
meet their reality. The objective of this study was to investigate the influence of the plants used
by the producers of the Alagoan hinterland with phytotherapeutic potential in the control of the
infectious coryza of the hips, commonly known as gogo. The present study originates in the
rural extension work developed by the authors in a cooperative of small farmers who covers
the municipalities of Canapi, Inhapi and Mata Grande, AL. There was the use of babosa, alho,
limão, pinhão-bravo, angico e cabeça-de-negro. Both plants show an evident contribution to
the fight against infectious coryza, and scientific studies on these plants are scarce. However,
there are reports of its use as phytotherapics in the fight against fevers, infections and injuries.
