Contributions of Agrarian Social Metabolism for the study of sustainability in agroecosystems
Keywords:
Agroecology, Energetic Balance, Flow of MaterialsAbstract
The objective of this work is to reflect on the contribution of Agrarian Social Metabolism (MSA)
and its theoretical and methodological applications to the study of sustainability in agroecosystems.
For this purpose, a conceptual analysis was carried out to make a bibliographical review
on the proposed theme and to identify the contributions that the MSA has given to the construction
of agroecological knowledge. It has been verified that several advances have already
been occurring through the articulation of the principles of Agroecology with the approaches
of the MSA, especially with regard to energy balance and efficiency and the flow of materials
in agroecosystems.
