Science experience: the role of the exchange of knowledge from the protagonism of farmers and organizations in the academic formation in the sertão do são francisco - PE/BA

This work aims to analyze processes of exchange, exchange of experiences and construction
of agroecological knowledge promoted by the Center for Research and Studies Sertão Agroecological
from the protagonism of farmers and organizations and their experiences. These
actions were carried out by the Sertão Agroecológico in the execution of extension projects
with an interface with the research as well as in teaching activities coordinated by the nucleus
with farmers, communities and organizations in the Sertão do São Francisco Baiano and Pernambucano
Territories. During the activities, students and teachers had the opportunity to
interact with the experiences in agroecology, organic production, urban and peri-urban agriculture,
living with the semi-arid region and contextualized education in these territories. These
experiences brought the farmers closer to the university community and enabled dialogical
interactions and more solid perspectives in the intervention processes in the fields of teaching,
research and university extension.
