The expansion of the productive frontier over the Amazon Forest has brought a series of environmental
and social damages; deforestation of forest remnants, land concentration, contamination
of soil and water by pesticides, fires and reduction of work stations in the countryside
are exemplify this. Today, the region is marked by the production of commodities for the internacional
market, intensifying the contradictions resulting from this activity. In contrast, the
Agrarian Reform settlements emerge as examples of resistance to rural emptying: although
at a disadvantage, peasant agriculture persists in seeking full conditions for work, subsistence
and for the permanence of families in the countryside. This work seeks to present a brief
analysis of the practices experienced in the Canteiros Socio-Solidarity and Agroecological
Trade System, with emphasis on the outflow of agroecological genera from families based on
Agrarian Reform in the region of Sinop / MT.
