“Mutirão de agricultura ecológica”: path of Sabiá laboratory

Abstract

The Mutirão de Agricultura Ecológica is an extension group of the Universidade Federal Fluminense
(UFF), which seeks to explain agroecological knowledge at the university. This work
deals with the Sabiá Laboratory path, which is a space for exchanging knowledge, which provides
a joint construction of knowledge, whose objective is the experimentation of the planting of
consortia in order to provide students with research in agroecology. The plantations are carried
out according to the stage of ecological succession, consortium of species, green fertilization,
in order to increase fertility and soil quality, besides working to reduce the impacts of the physical
environment. It is showing great potential for the praxis of agroecology in the university,
considering that, following the successive management, an improvement in soil quality and an
increase in student interest in the subject was observed, as well as providing a space for social
interaction and Exchange of experiences.
