“Mutirão de agricultura ecológica”: actions and developments of 2016

Abstract

This report deals with the activities carried out by the “Grupo de Extensão Mutirão de Agricultura
Ecológica” (MÃE) during 2016, at the Universidade Federal Fluminense (UFF). Together
with the “Comboio Sudeste” project, conceived by the National Articulation of Agroecology, the
group participated in the construction and organization of the agro-ecological caravan in the
state of São Paulo. From the perception of the importance of the articulation for the agroecological
movement, acquired in the caravan, tried to approach the various actors that contribute
to the agroecological movement in the UFF. In order to strengthen the articulation, the I Week
of Agroecological Articulation was held in the UFF and the IX Week of Agroecology together
with other groups, which promoted the agroecological debate through the dialogue of scientific
knowledge and tradicional knowledge. The events opened for more integrated work with the
farmers of the metropolitan region of Rio de Janeiro, strengthening the exchange of knowledge.
