Abstract

The current moment of construction of the “Agroecological Settlements” Project in the extreme
south region of Bahia requires spaces, methodologies, dynamics and tools that empower
women farmers in the construction process as transforming agents of current practices, that
the production model Capitalist imposes them. With the “Varal Produtivo” methodology, it was
possible to dialogue and reflect on the practices and techniques of agroecological production
crops, based on the experiences and accumulated knowledge of the settlers, collaborating in
the process of autonomy and emancipation of the same. From this training space, there were
broadly enriching discussions among the farmers, highlighting issues of consortia and spacing;
An exchange of experiences that allowed the establishment of an observation area, with the
planting of corn, beans, peanuts, watermelon, squash, and cassava with 3 distinct forms of
spacing and arrangement.
