A report on the experiences of members of the Cerrado Mineiro Agroecology Nucleus (NACEM),
collecting soils along route 4 in the Agroecological Caravan of São Paulo. The idea was
not to develop a technical sampling, but to know the patterns of soils in the experiences visited.
There were 13 collection points, in the cities of Ribeirão Preto, São Carlos, Apiaí, passing
through three agrarian reform settlements, Mário Lago, Ilda Martins and Luis Macedo, in their
collective and individual lots, as well as ecovillage and urban vegetable gardens. Soil samples
were used to map the systems managed with the concern of maintaining biodiversity and non-
-use of agrochemicals, and it was observed that all the samples presented levels considered
high of some attributes of soil, and that are beneficial to the soil- plant. Similar results were observed
in the NACEM operating region, proving environmental quality in sustainable systems.
