This work is part of an action research in progress in Sergipe’s southern area, in partnership
with the agrecological network “peasent to peasent”. Its aim is to discuss the peasentry’s subordination
to capital, and to understand how agroecology is able to strengthen processes that may
prevent this subordination, and build autonomy, by means of establishing new social, production
and economic relations. For this, we conducted a bibliography review of the topic, and followed
the exchange, evalueaions, and cultural round-table promoted by the agroecology network. The
construction of agroecology, networks – networks of peasant who share their experiênces in
exchanges - is something that is capable of increasing the peasentry’s (relative) autonomy, especially
concering their knowledge and production. Furthermore, one case see the retrieval and
the construction of social relations, based on fraternity, horizontality and reciprocity.
