Abstract

The present report is about an experience lived by students of the group of professional masters in
Rural Development and Management of Agri - food Developments of the Federal Institute of Education,
Science and Technology of Pará (IFPA) - Campus Castanhal, in the discipline of Family
Agriculture Peasant and Agroecology, The field activity took place in the family unit of Mr. Pedro
Ferreira de Araújo, popularly known as “Pedreco”, located in the Monte Sião community in São
Domingos do Capim, the participatory research methodology was used, the dialogue between
teachers, students and Family farmers contributed to the construction of agroecological knowledge
and the valorization of the traditional knowledge of the subjects of the field, the objective was
to reflect on the concept of peasant family agriculture based on the specificity of the reality of the
riverside populations, through a characterization of the subjects articulated with the general concepts
What And has been produced worldwide and in the Brazilian Amazon. The experience that
proved to be very rich from the pedagogical point of view provided the articulation between scientific
knowledge and traditional knowledge of peasant knowledge and making, thus contributing to
the effective construction of agroecological knowledge and the dialogue of knowledge.
