Abstract

The present article is part of a work that has been developed in the initial and continuing training
course in family agriculture, in the IFPB, Campus Princesa Isabel. The main objective was
to outline the productive profile of the students participating in the course and to identify the
use of agroecological techniques and practices. Agroecology enables the production and food
and nutritional security of the family by adding income generation. The methodology developed
was based on the application of questionnaires with open and closed questions. It was identified
that 77% live in the rural area of Água Branca, 85% have rural properties, 55% only have
income from the property, 69% of the students work with animal traction, 46% do not plan the
activities they have to carry out on the property . It is concluded that people are interested in
new learning because they believe in agroecological practices and invest in their properties as
a source of income and healthy food.
