Construction of the agroecological knowledge: an analyze of the observed sociocultural aspects on the Projeto Comboio Agroecológico do Sudeste experiences

Abstract

The construction of the agroecological knowledge refers to the process of elaborating new
awareness through farmers traditional knowledge and their interaction with scientific and technical
instructions knowledge. Although there is a pejorative connotation to the way agriculturist’s
livelihood, researches based on agroecological principles have been showing interesting
strategies to preserve such territories. This paper aim to understand the contribution gathered
from visits to sites made by Projeto Comboio Agroecologico do Sudeste, and how aspects analised
contribute to sustainable use and handling of the land in which they are located, focusing
to the sociocultural aspects. ABA’s Matrix of Systematization was used as tool to systematize
and convert the stories told at the ‘Caravans’. These have been an interesting pedagogical tool
to identify and analize the agroecosystems and the socio-environmental relationships established
in the land.
