Abstract

The free trade shows have a historical role in Brazilian culture, having high relation with the
concept of agroecology, and can be an important channel of dissemination of this science and
transformation of society. Nowadays, organic and agro-ecological fairs are growing stronger in
big cities. But in the field the reality is different, where the options of getting organic food are
still very scarce. In this sense, the young person plays a fundamental role, especially those
who are entering the market closely related to the field, as well as the institutions that form
them. The holding of the fair at Ifes, Santa Teresa campus, is an example of a change in the
vision of agroecology in rural areas. As a result of the partnership between NEA Arandu and
ASTRAL, it is already part of daily school life and has been generating reflection on the autonomy
of family agriculture. Many are the challenges, but fairs held in Teaching Institutions are
important for the strengthening of agroecology.
