Abstract

The Program is executed by the Federal Institute Farroupilha - Campus Santo Augusto, with
the support of EMATER / RS ASCAR, EMBRAPA TEMPERADO CLIMATE, NEDTNORC,
SINTRAF and Cooperfamiliar. It aims to serve 1300 families living in extreme poverty accompanied
by ASCAR-EMATER / RS in social assistance actions in 21 municipalities of the Celeiro
/ RS region. These families receive seedlings, technical assistance, contribute to the rescue
of food and bioactive species, and training in homemade agro-industrialization. It is hoped to
increase plant production, enhancing the capacity of ecosystems to produce, increasing the
availability of quality food produced on agroecological bases, improving the feeding of these
families, with health and family income impacts. Another advancement is the autonomy and
knowledge about plant production and species use since many families do not have tradition
or effective knowledge to conduct agroecological crops.
