Experience as an agronomy student related to the life experience internship in zona da mata - Minas Gerais

Abstract

The life experience interdisciplinary internship in Zona da Mata- Minas Gerais has been happening
for 20 years now, with the purpose of investigating questionings and comprehensions
through different realities which students who applied for the internship experience for one
month. The internship consists of the hosting of the students by farmers families from that
region in order to insert them into their realities respecting the no-intervention methodology,
interdisciplinary and in partnership with the social movements. The main goals reached by this
program were the acknowledgement that the life routine on the fields is hard, the perception
that the knowledge acquired by the farmers cannot be reached inside the university and that it
is the intern’s duty to search for changes for the troubles verified by them during their experiences
and also fight for public policies which benefit these communities and create new paths in
the face of the knowledge received through their studies which does not match the reality they
will have to face.
