Abstract

Waste is a global problematic due to the high volumes that are generated, an alternative for controlled
management is composting. The study was oriented to identify the influence of the aeration
method used in the temperature of the composting process. Three combinations of filter
cake, bagasse, ash, two sources of microorganisms and two forms of aeration were elaborated.
The stacks were established under a three-factor design, and were assessed twice a week;
Analysis of variances, graphs and tables of means, and multiple-rank tests with 95% confidence
using the LSD Fisher method were used for the analysis. The factor influencing the temperature
is aeration by volteos and their interactions. In addition, the characteristics of the composted
materials generate influence in the behavior of the temperature; the Material with high content
of bagasse had adequate temperatures in the process due to its capacity to store heat.
