Implantation of passion fruit orchards on small farms in transition to ecologically based agriculture in Bauru, São Paulo

Abstract

The objective of this work was to establish agroecological orchards of yellow passion fruit in
properties with participatory certification in the region of Bauru, interior of São Paulo, in the
year 2015. Two properties were chosen with the main interest of diversifying the production for
commercialization and to meet the alimentary needs of the familiar nucleus. From the implantation
of the orchards one can value production, increase variety of organic products available
in local fairs, favor the food security of the participants and the extra income for producers.
