Antagonism in vitro of Trichoderma longibrachiatum and Trichoderma harzianum to Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. cubense
Keywords:
Biological control, Musa sp, Potential antagonisticAbstract
Fungi of the genus Trichoderma represent the main biocontrol agents of phytopathogens used
in agriculture. The objective of this work was to evaluate the in vitro antagonistic activity of
Trichoderma longibrachiatum and Trichoderma harzianum to the fungus Fusarium oxysporum
f. sp. cubense, causal agent of the evil of Panama. For the in vitro assay the paired culture
method was used where a Petri dish with BDA medium received on one side a disk containing
the phytopathogen and on the other a disk of the antagonist, being evaluated for seven days.
It was observed that T. longibrachiatum and T. harzianum presented antagonistic action on the
pathogen Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. cubense.
