Abstract

This work had as objective to evaluate the interference of the type of packaging on the physiological
quality of the seeds of lettuce and almeirão. As seeds purchased for paper packaging,
from the Isla® brand, for aface and TopSeed® seeds for alligator seeds; And Hortec® brand
metal packaging for seeds of both species. The design was completely randomized, using two
plant species and two types of packages, with four replications. The evaluated characteristics
were: first germination count, percentage of germination, rate of germination and average germination
time. The results obtained allowed to conclude that the type of packaging used in the
marketing influence seed viability.
