Networks of agrifood citizenship: The case of responsible consumption cells in Florianópolis-SC
Keywords:
responsible consumption, agroecology, organic products, direct sales, short food supply chainAbstract
The present work presents the experience of the Laboratory of Marketing of Family Agriculture
in the process of creation and development of Responsible Consumption Cells in the region
of Florianópolis - SC. The initiative was born out of the need for groups of farmers to enable
fairer markets for their products, coupled with the growing consumer demand for cleaner and
healthier foods. The CCRs studied innovated with a social arrangement that articulates groups
of farmers, linked to the Ecovida Network of Agroecology and consumer groups, promoting
proximity and cooperation relationships through the direct sale of organic foods. This tool of
social innovation makes it possible to create bonds of trust and responsibility, consolidating
consumption as a political act. It is hoped to expand the number of Consumption Cells and
contribute to the construction of an agrifood citizenship network in the metropolitan region of
Florianópolis.
