Animal integration and food diversity from agroecological gardens in family farms in Zona da Mata Mineira

Considering the importance of the vegetal and animal diversity for the composition of the
agroecology systems, the group “Animais para a Agroecologia”, in partnership with farming
families, aims to identify alternatives for the nutrition and health of the livestock, retrieving the
traditional knowledge. Workshops and interchange are used as well as the Pedagogical Instalations
methodological resource, this appliance makes possible the circulation of traditional
and scientific between the academics and the farmers. These experiences were systemized
as a reach out for sustainable alternatives in the handling of the natural resources on systems
of plant-animal conjoining, so it was observed the importance of vegetal diversity on animal
health and nutrition, the Woman Protagonism on familiar farming as well as the importance of
exchange of knowledge in the construction of agroecology.
