Abstract

A diagnostic of demands for the expansion of the commercialization and the access to organic
products indicated that mapping the points of sale was fundamental to the consolidation of
regional markets in Campinas (SP) and region. In this context, MapOrganic was created for
map these points, produced from Google’s My Maps tool. In the interface created, users can
register production units, fairs, consumption groups, among others. The insertion of the points
occurs through an electronic form, filled out by the interested party. Subsequently, the request
and data are validated by the project team and made available for public access. The map,
besides the geographical identification, includes information such as location, opening hours,
certification, type of product offered. In six months, 31 marketing points were registered, aggregated
in 11 different categories, in 9 municipalities of the region.
