Abstract

This study analyzes the experience of a family of family farmers in order to understand how
they adjust their means of life the complexity of biophisical environment of your agroecosystem.
The case study was developed through a field visit using open-ended questions, direct
observation, walk across and photographic records. It was found that the agroforestry systems
have been highlighted in the context of the production system, providing the family economic
viability, environmental and social. It was identified that there is a process of agroecological
transition in progress characterized by redrawing of the agroecosystem, through a permanent
initiative to adjust the cropping systems to the natural environment that is inserted. Thus, the
agroforestry systems constitute a strategic component in the design of sustainable agroecosystems,
because they are able to adapt to the heterogeneity of biophisical environment in
the Amazon Region.
