Evaluation of agroecosystems: practical experience in postgraduate

Abstract

The present work presents the objective of analyzing the sustainability of several agroecosystems
developed in the IFPA Campus Castanhal, in comparison to the Forest Ecosystem with
the use of indicators. This process allowed us to verify that the natural ecosystem presents
high sustainability and while these systems distance themselves from the natural forest environment,
this capacity for self-management is diminished, being possible to draw a ranking of
sustainability where the Natural Forest Ecosystem is in the Top, followed by the Sucessional
Agroforestry System, Conventional Pasture System and Conventional Corn System, which
occupies the last place due mainly to keeping a large part of the soil uncovered / unprotected
and presenting in monoculture, which triggers a series of impacts in the middle.
