Urban agricultures: agroecology to the city, in the city and from the city!

Abstract

This paper systematizes recent thoughts on agroecology and urban agriculture that emerged
in important events that are part of the agroecological field trajectory in Brazil. Three approaches
are presented, identified as “agroecology for the city”, “agroecology in the city” and “agroecology
of the city”, which articulate these themes to different conceptions of the urban-rural
relationship and which point to different paths and research contents connected to transformative
political action.
