Abstract

The dark septate endophytes (DSE) act in promoting plant growth, however the ecological
functions of these fungi remain obscure. This work aimed to evaluate the effect of organic
sources of nutrients on the growth of dark septate endophytic fungi. Using a randomized block
design, DSE isolates obtained from Oryza glumaepatula were evaluated on the use of organic
nutrients sources. The results showed that ERR 04 isolate developed better in the presence of
organic nutrients sources compared to other. The ERR 04 fungus is promising for testing the
transfer of nutrients from organic matter to its host.
