Abstract

Agroforestry systems have been pointed out by several authors in the last decades as a plausible
possibility for family farmers and peasants, aiming the production of food in order to
conserve natural resources and the well being of the environment as a whole. In this way, the
present work had as objective to analyze different agroforestry systems of a productive unit of
the municipality of Cananéia. For the sustainability analysis was used the method Marco for
Evaluación de Sistemas de Manejo de Recursos Naturales - MESMIS. Four agroecosystems
with different species time and composition were analyzed, and 28 sustainability indicators
were used to evaluate the attributes of Resilience, Stability and Reliability. The results indicated
that, in general, agroforestry systems it favors the maintenance of ecological processes
and the integral quality of agroecosystems, since all the treatments presented results comparable
to the local natural ecosystems, demonstrating high species diversity, healthy soil and
free of pesticides, propitiating enough Production of food in quantity and quality.
