Abstract

The aim of this paper was to evaluate the incidence of diseases in Cambuci pepper (Capsicum
baccatum) cultivated in a successional Agroforestry System at CCA/UFSCar/Araras. The experiment
consisted in evaluations of incidence and severity that took place every month from
October 2016 to February 2017. The plants were grown in double lines and intercropped with
coffee, corn and yam. The results obtained showed the importance of constant observation
of the plants in systems in phase of agroecological transition and how important it is to maintain
a frequently managed system in order to avoid making the microclimate favorable to the
development of diseases. During this period high precipitations and temperatures occurred,
influencing the incidence of lesions in which most occurred in fruits, in low severe levels.
