Abstract

Eggplant has been gaining prominence in the scenario of organic olericulture, due to its medicinal
attributes, however, there are few researches in this area, mainly with organic fertilizers.
These provide numerous qualities to the soil and plants. The objective of this research was
to study the effect of different organic fertilizers on the performance of eggplant plants. The
experiment was conducted at the State University of Bahia-UNEB, Campus III in a Flossic
Neosol. The experimental design was a randomized block design with four treatments and
four replications. The treatments were: T1 (exempt of fertilization), T2 (earthworm humus), T3
(goat manure), T4 (aviary bed). The aviary bed provided an increment in development, and this
fertilizer was the best result in this study for the cultivation of the Florida market.
