Abstract

The objective of this research was to evaluate the development of the pepper variety (Pepper
hard shell ikeda), when submitted to different doses of goat manure. This experiment was conducted
at the DTCS / campus III of the State University of Bahia (UNEB) in a Fluvial Neosol.
The experimental design was a randomized block design with four treatments and four replications.
The doses consisted of D1 (0 t ha-1), D2 (30 t ha-1), D3 (60 t ha-1) and D4 (90 t ha-1). The
evaluated characteristics were: Number of fruits per plant, total number of fruits, leaf length,
stem diameter and number of leaves per plant. The best results obtained from pepper were
observed when 60 and 90 t/h-1 were submitted. Taking into account the cost of production and
the best results for number of fruits, the recommended dose of 60 t há-1 is recommended for
the cultivation of the pepper.
