Abstract

This article aims to report the experience of an agroecological production project applied to
farmers of the Movimento dos Sem Terra (MST). Its objective was to contribute to the aggregation
of value to agricultural products from educational processes in the headquarters of the
Vereda I settlement of Padre Bernardo/GO, for a total of eight settlements. Activities have been
developed, for example, on: organic vegetable gardens, nurseries, detection and analysis of
water resources, cooperatives and, finally, the edition of a book. We opted for the qualitative
approach, based on dialectical-materialist philosophies and hermeneutic phenomenology, the
procedure method being Research-Action. The main results were significantly fulfilled, making
agro-ecological production available for the farmers’ own consumption, income generation and
marketing, taking into account the principles of agroecology and local sustainable development.
