Abstract

This experiment aimed to characterize the ecological groups of soil fauna in areas cultivated
with sugarcane, sweet potato and pineapple crops in the experimental area of the IFTO - Dianópolis
Campus. The methodology used is based on the Provid trap method. Three traps were
installed in each of the growing areas, each one formed by a plastic bottle type Pet with capacity
of 2 liters containing three openings in the form of windows with dimensions of 6 x 3 cm
at the height of 20 cm of its base. The traps were removed from the experimental area after 7
days. Through manual harvesting, the identification of large taxonomic and ecological groups
and the counting of organisms were carried out. The ecological group found in greater quantity
in soils cultivated with pineapple and sweet potato was the other group. In the soil cultivated
with sugar cane was the group of social insects.
