Abstract

The organisms present in the soil are responsible for innumerable and different functions that
vary between metabolism and size. The objective of this research was to compare the mesofauna
and macrofauna of different areas in agroecological management with areas of conventional
management. For determine the level of the population, the alternative and practical
methodology “Provid” was used. This method was installed in eight different areas, with five
replicates, with six areas of agroecological crops from CEIER-ES (Integrated State Center
of Rural Education), being: conilon coffee, shaded conilon coffee, pasture at rest, gliricidia,
polyculture annual, native forest area, and two in comparative areas in conventional use, with
pepper and conilon coffee. Among the areas, it was observed that the area with conilon coffee
cultivated in conventional management has negatively influenced the diversity of the mesofauna
and macrofauna of the soil.
