Technological solutions for the environmental adaptation of the rural landscape to the Brazilian Forest Code: Cerrado biome
Keywords:
Rural Development, Sustainable development, Protection of vegetation, Environmental RegulationAbstract
The Protection of native vegetation Act established the need for mapping and characterization
of plant cover of rural properties to promote your environmental regularization. One of the
main bottlenecks for promoting the recovery of degraded areas is the availability of information
about the main native species in each biome, as well as the time of seed collection and how
to produce seedlings. Thus, it becomes essential to the dissemination of such information, to
guide farmers and technicians or even policymakers focused on sustainable rural production.
The aim of this work is to promote some of the results of the project “Technological solutions
for the environmental suitability of the Brazilian forest code” in the actions of the WebAmbiente
(Embrapa/MMA partnership), in the consolidation and dissemination of information of native species for the recovery of Permanent Preservation Areas and Legal Reserves within the
Cerrado biome. The information about the 330 species suggested for the production of seeds
and the 90 included in the publication of seedling production were based and collected in specialized
literature and also in the databases of herbaria. This information have been validated
in workshops with experts. The results achieved so far are released in a study of seedling
production and in a seed collection calendar which seek to assist rural community in your sustainable
development.
