Capacities based on agroecology strengthening urban and periurban agriculture in Capitão Poço –PA

Abstract

There are in the municipality of Capitão Poço / PA, urban and periurban farmers, although little
visible, growing vegetables, producing food for subsistence and selling the surplus, being administered
by families. The NEA / UFRA / Capitão Poço/PA has been working with urban and
peri-urban farmers in this municipality, subsidizing information on the principles of agroecology,
building participatory knowledge on sustainable technologies for production system of vegetables.
This action included three training and training workshops addressing agroecological
production systems, including: Production of Biofertilizers, Composting and Vermicomposting.
Also providing a training space and collective debates, where the actors involved took advantage
of the space for learning and exchanges of knowledge.
