Abstract

In the advances of agriculture has sought to look for new practices for crop cultivation, mainly
seek new increments to solve the problem of a good production through fertilization, new alternative
substrates have arisen to provide opportunities for small and medium producers in
these agricultural advances. Within this context the objective of the study was to determine vegetative
growth in lettuce seedlings at different concentrations of biofertilizer. The experiment
was carried out under greenhouse conditions in the agro - ecology sector of Ifes - Campus de
Alegre, using 4 lettuce cultivars and 4 treatments with different concentrations of biofertilizer.
For the evaluations, the total fresh mass, plant height and length of the largest root were used.
The results showed that comparing cultivars with each other may offer no difference in certain
increments, but when analyzed separately, these differences demonstrated that the biofertilizer
in higher concentrations showed higher vegetative growth.
