Abstract

Gliricidia sepium (Jacq.) Walp) is a legume with high nutritional value in animal feed, as a source
of low cost protein and resistance to drought. This work was carried out with the objective of
evaluating the bromatological composition of gliricidia ensiled in a polyethylene bag, which is
easy to obtain by family farmers. The experiment was conducted by the Nucleus of Agroecological
Studies of the Federal Institute of Sergipe - São Cristóvão Campus (NEA / IFS-SC) during
the months of November 2016 to January 2017. Polyethylene bags were used as an alternative
to traditional silos. A total of 05 samples of the Material (200g / sample) were sent to the Technological
and Research Institute of the State of Sergipe (ITPS), a laboratory of bromatological
analyzes, where the following laboratory analyzes were processed according to the methodologies
stipulated by MAPA: Determination of humidity; (Ii) fixed mineral residue (ash); (Iii) crude
fiber; Proteins; (Iv) ethereal extract and; (V) total digestible nutrients. The values found were
compatible for good quality silage
