Abstract

The quantification of the contribution of litter in agroecosystems is important to understand
the interaction of the species and its benefits. This study was carried out in Belterra / PA and
had as objective to quantify litter production in two agroforestry systems. Monthly data were
collected for one year (September / 2015 to August / 2016), litter deposition data. The annual
deposition was of 2,667.70 kg.ha-¹ for system 1 and 3,761.60 kg.ha-¹ for system 2. System 1
presented the highest percentage contribution of leaf fraction (62.77%). There was a negative
correlation with relative humidity and mean and minimum temperatures. The two-agroforestry
systems present similar deposition characteristics despite having a different arrangement
of species. Both present features consistent with the implementation objectives, that is, they
present similar dynamics to native forest areas, considering the age factor and the largest leaf
deposition in both evaluated systems.
