Evaluation of the Potential Insecticide of essential oils of Baccharis dracunculifolia and Piper aduncum in termite under laboratory conditions
Keywords:
groecology, Insect control, managementAbstract
The objective of this study was to evaluate the insecticidal effect of Baccharis essential oils on
insect pests control, which is considered one of the main problems of sustainable agriculture.
Dracunculifolia and Piper aduncum in termite colonies under laboratory conditions. For the
conduction of the test, the concentrations of 100, 500 and 1000 ppm of both essential oils were
used and after 24 and 48 hours of assembly of the experiment, the number of dead termites
was recorded. The studies showed that both oils had an indicative of potential to stop termite
control. However, further studies are needed, analyzing the mode of action of the major chemical
components as well as their phytotoxicity.
