Phytosociological survey and analysis of spontaneous plants under mulching of crushed babassu straw in rice in the municipality of Arari-MA

The objective of this study was to evaluate the effects of babassu straw cover on the spontaneous
vegetation associated with rice cultivation. The experiment was conducted in March
2016 in the municipality of Arari - MA. Where treatments were arranged in a randomized block
with increasing amounts of babassu straw (0.15, 20, 25 t.ha-1), with four replicates. In the vegetative
phase five species of monocotyledons and six species of eudicotiledonias were identified.
For the reproductive phase eight species of monocotyledons and nine of eudicotiledonias
were found. Cyperus sp was the species with the highest importance value index.
