A preliminary study on the role of the species melípona (Melipona Subnitida) in the pollination
of plants of the caatinga, with emphasis on the importance of jandaira and its role in
the fertilization of native flowers, as well as specifically in some species of trees as: Aroeira
(Anacardiaceae) Myracrodruon urundeuva Allemão, Abercynon (burseraceae) Commiphoraâ
leptophloeosâ (Mart.) J.B.Gillett) and yopo (fabaceae) - Mimosoideae Anadenanthera colubrina
(Vell.) Brenam. Taking in the stingless bees pollinating one of the vectors for maintaining
the quality of ecosystems and consequently the life of all plant species of the caatinga biome.
Among the analyzed species it is concluded that imburana and aroeira are the ones that have
greater acceptability by the jandaira bee, whereas the angico has a smaller acceptance.
