Abstract

This study had as objective to dialogue with young growers about the conversion of the system
of apiculture conventional production to the organic. The importance to agroecology has
relation to the substitution of non-sustainable practices associated with apiculture conventional
for practices that can educate and incorporate these subjects of production by means of
awareness and capacity for the sustainable swarm management and good practices in the
harvesting of bee products. It was used form, face-to-face interview, dialogues, rapid participatory
diagnosis, field trips to evaluate place of apiaries, form of application of utensils, and
equipment and administration of hives. The parameters of the conversion were confronted with
the apiculture practices performed by the group, being presented the agroecological transition
as alternative, in order to achieving sustainability standards in the economic, social, environmental,
political, cultural and ethical dimensions.
