Abstract

SAFs represent an important alternative in the generation of income and productive maintenance
of the family unit. The Southern Forest Zone of Pernambuco State is a sugarcane
region surrounded by landowners; aiming at a more sustainable production, valuing the local
family farmers as well as seeking to overcome seasonality of production is being stimulated the
implantation of SAFs. This has been changing with the insertion of family agriculture in local
settlements that incorporate a perspective of agricultural production based on economic, social
and environmental development. In this context, the Nucleus of Agroecology Studies (NEADS)
of IFPE-Barreiros promoted a Practical Course on Implantation of Agroforestry. Thus, the objective
of this work is to evaluate a SAF in the IFPE-Campus Barreiros after ten months of its
implantation, to bring contributions in management for future agroforestry systems with the
necessary technical characteristics for their perpetuation
