Among the existing production indicators to perform the floral induction of pineapple, Leaf D is
the most suitable for use by farmers, since it does not damage the plant and with easy operation
in the field, being safe in estimating the weight of the fruit, providing plan the Production
in times of better remuneration for the fruit. The objective of this study was to obtain practical
information about the Leaf D indicator of the ‘Pérola’ pineapple, in organic cultivation in the
central region of the State of Tocantins, to obtain fruits weighing 1.2 kg or more in the first Year,
this being the period of the best prices practiced in the Brazilian market. The relation of the
mass/width ratio of Leaf D, with value minimum of 11.3, indicates with greater security to the
farmer in the decision making to carry out the treatment of the floral induction of the pineapple
