The objective was to characterize the physical and physiological quality of seeds of four species
of crotalaria cultivated in agroecological transition management. Seeds were grown in the
technology transfer area and the physical and physiological characterization was performed
in the laboratory, both at Embrapa Roraima. Of the evaluated variables, only the percentage
of abnormal seedlings did not present significant difference, the others were highly significant.
There was a difference in the physical and physiological quality of seeds of the four crotalaria
cultivated in the agroecological transition area of Roraima. Crotalaria seeds show coloring
that varies from red to orange. The seeds of C. juncea L. and C. mucronata Desv. have better
physical and physiological quality, with higher water contents, greater weight of one thousand
seeds, percentages of germination, germination speed index and first germination count.
