Abstract

The objective of this work is to analyze the potentialities and challenges for the insertion of
Gama’s agricultural production in the Local Production Arrangement-APL of Organic of the
Federal District-DF. The research was conducted through semi-structured interviews with leaders
from the Gama region. Currently, the Gama produces small-scale and seasonal fruits
and vegetables. However, the potential for the insertion of Gama’s agricultural production in
the Organic APL of the DF is enormous once there is in the range area for the expansion of
production and in the DF there is a consumer market willing to pay for a value-added agricultural
product. Due to factors such as legal insecurity, speculation and difficulty in accessing
agricultural credit, Gama’s agricultural production is unable to supply local demand. After land
regularization, access to agricultural credit will be facilitated and farmers will be able to invest
in the production, storage, processing and marketing of agricultural products, and to seek technical
assistance for organic production and its insertion in the APL of organic of DF.
