Abstract

The objective of this work is to present the perspectives of sustainable sanitation for agroecological
production in rural areas. In order to analyze the relationship between the themes
Sustainable Sanitation and Agroecology, a bibliographic research was carried out on the themes
of studies, in order to identify sustainable actions among the sectors. Rural communities
suffer from lack of adequate sanitation in Brazil. Sustainable sanitation promotes improved life
quality through health promotion and agricultural production. Sustainable sanitation streams
can provide resources such as water and nutrients sufficient for the production of organic food,
ensuring the food security of rural communities. Sustainable sanitation promotes better living
conditions for rural communities and promotes the sustainability of agroecosystems.
